No Mr Bus driver, in fact bicycles ARE allowed in the bus lane, and while i had every intention of moving over to the right (NOT to the cycle path that you are gesticulating towards, as there is no legal requirement to ride on cycle paths, in fact if you're travelling at more than 15mph then the recommendation is to ride on the road, and anyway, its not going where i'm going) its very difficult to do that when there is a bus 2 feet away from your rear wheel. And once i've signalled my intent and completed that maneuver its not then permissable to deliberately drive in front of me in order to cut me off. In fact its fucking dangerous, you total twat.
I was going faster than you anyway, you loser...

RIP car...

The car was scrapped today. At least i hope it was as it was taken away on a truck by a strange man after i filled in a form on a website. It's either being scrapped or trafficked to eastern europe. I don't really mind which as long as it stops being my responsibility, stupid money pit thing. The winter should be interesting but i'll just have to invest the money i'll save in (not really called) road tax in some winter riding gear. And now we have semi-flexi time which means i can get in early and not have to do the liskeard to looe ride in the dark.
Still, one thing the car did for me was allow me time to get fit enough from weekend biking to be able to handle a 20 mile a day commute, which was killing me when i first started my current job...
I feel a bit sad really. But at £450 minimum, there was no way i could afford to get it fixed, and with diesel at £1.20 a litre and rising, plus (not) road tax there was just no way it was going to be viable... I hate the waste of throwing things away though...

They are such TOTAL bastards..! So, CCCS plan update thing. The Huge Sodding Banking Conglomerate tell me that they'll pass everything to the next stage once 5 payments have been missed. SO then they've been charging me for refusing to tak payments from themselves up to payment 4. And guess what? They AUTHORISED payment 5. So i go back to stage 1. And they get to carry on charging me so that the amount i owe goes up instead of down.
WANKERS!!!
Here, find this, google: HSBC are the biggest bunch of thieving bastards since the great train robbers, and at least actual criminals don't then write to you afterwards to tell you it's all your fault that they're stealing from you.

The HSBC are so full of shit it makes my head spin. Long story short, what with the car going ppth last year, my finances went completely up the creek and i gave in and went to the CCCS to sort it out for me. The HSBC are such arseholes about it though, they just keep sending out the same computer generated letters.
It's become a bit of a game, i spam their complaints email, they write me the same letter, leave me alone for a bit, then start sending me the CGI letters again.
Brilliant one today: A nice letter about how they hope to give excellent personal service, where the paragraph with the bit about the excellent personal service cut itself in half and restarted from the beginning for no apparent reason.
Either their excellent personal service doesn't include reading what they send out, or they're obtusely trying to make a point...

You have to wonder what the point is sometimes... This morning out of curiosity i log onto my defunct HSBC accounts to find that they've re-instated a dead standing order paying themselves (i've given up on credit cards and handed it all over to the CCCS to sort, which they are, although the HSBC are being twats about it), then refused to pay it to themselves (hello, thats why its defunct) and charged me for the privilege. Custards. And now i have to ring one of their premium numbers on a weekday which means i'll be at work and have to use my mobile so i'll be paying a fortune to be kept on hold listening to their awful hold music which actually sounds a bit like a muzak version of 'better the devil you know'...
And then in petty theft news (as opposed to that clever kind of corporate theft where a large company steals from itself and then blames you) some chavvy fuckwarts have stolen a load of the plants from outside our house. Whats the fucking point of that? You worthless fucktards, you're an argument in favour of eugenics, i hope next time you're bending over rifling through other peoples' plant pots, one of your worthless mates comes down the road in their lowered clio and flattens you.
Why don't you do something useful and steal the car instead? I don't want it and it insured for more than its worth...

I really don't know why i bother paying South west water any money ever. If i pay them, it doesn't go through the stupid billpayment website and they send me snotty letters demanding immediate payment or they'll take me to court; if i don't pay them then they ignore me.
Maybe giving them money draws attention to yourself?
They should bin the billpay thing (has the same trouble with council tax) and use the e-commerce system which i happen to know is available as part of the CMS that they use for their website...

What is it with people in Audis? Obviously there is a special law where the speed limit is a minimum not a maximum (perhaps the archbish set it up... ;-p ) for people in Audis.
But yes, going round a corner up a hill at 90 mph and nearly smacking into the back of me is one thing (i hate my car, it has airbags and it would be on your insurance :p) but doing it WITH YOUR KIDS IN THE CAR?
Do you want to kill them, or do you want them to see you kill someone else? You complete twat.

It's interesting the way people really push in and race each other in traffic in the morning. What's the point? The prize is: You get to start work a bit earlier. Woohoo, you win, well done you. I like it when people hammer past me (becuase i am driving at the speed limit) and then have to stop at the lights and sit there huffily revving their engines and i pull up next to them. Again, they win. Well done.
And also, when i'm overtaking in the overtaking lane, at 70mph going faster than the lane i am overtaking (especially as i know there's a slip road round the next bend which is always backed up onto the dual carriageway) DON'T sit on my arse in an angry way because i'm not going as fast as you want to go. Deal with it, maybe get a copy of the highway code or something, it's got all the speeds that you're allowed to go in it, they're not a minimum. You're only driving a fucking people carrier (probably the one that your wife made you get). Maybe you should respond to one of those 'get a larger p3n1s!!' spam emails, you've obviously got issues.
I hate driving...

Yep, i like going fast. Due to some shenanigans with a computer and a caravan, i was running late to meet
glitterrose so i bombed it back from my ride. And took a bit of a shortcut down some steeper singletrack than i would normally have gone with (mostly because it has a stream at the bottom). And wheee! Blimey, that was fun. And yeah, i would say that traffic jamming is great training for getting your nerve up. Who's scared or trees? Compared to trucks they're a piece of cheese. I'll probably fall off now...

The part of this that was only reported on the radio2 news, bizarrely, is that they were allegedly attacked by skateborders. Kerrang started going on about some goths vs skaters thing way back, co-incidentally around the time we started getting shit from skaters. But go back a bit further than that, and i'm sure that it was a tad different. The punks, metallers, and goths that i used to see at early manics gigs certainly were capable of being in one place without mangling each other.

Dear First Great Western,
You are shit. You are so shit that if you improved immeasurably, you might make it to merely rubbish. What part of the timetable which you yourselves produce, do you have trouble understanding? Presumeably the part which states that a train will arrive and depart at a certain time.
Because of you i have been late to work and/or late home i would say an average of four days out of five. That doesn't go down well with my employer and it doesn't make me happy either. Today in particular it made me arrive at work half an hour late, and soaking wet due to the half hour downpour that started as i got off the train and stopped when i arrived at work. While i can't hold you responsible for the weather, the timing would have been a lot better had i arrived on time.
All in all, you suck.

And they did charge me. Not really surprised. And also, sneaky trick by them:
Still will be sending my claim off, obviously...
From HSBC website:
Incidentally, the only way that the HSBC 'started a court case' was in the same way that a burglar 'starts a court case' by breaking into someone's house...
Important Information on Overdraft Charging
What is happening?
On 27 July, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) HSBC and six other UK banks and a building society started a court case to decide on the legality of unauthorised personal overdraft charges. Together, these banks provide more than 93% of current accounts in the UK.
The British Bankers' Association has made a statement on behalf of the banks involved. You can read this statement at www.bba.org.uk
This case is being called a 'test case' because the decision will clarify the law and is likely to apply to all existing and future claims against banks about unauthorised personal overdraft charges.
We will continue to post updates on our website to keep customers informed of progress on the test case as it is likely to run for at least a year.
What will happen to customer complaints about bank charges?
Like most banks and building societies we will wait until a final decision is reached in the test case before resolving customer complaints on overdraft charges
If you do complain about your overdraft charges, we will write to tell you that we have received your complaint and that we will record it on your file. When a final decision is reached in the test case, we will contact you as soon as possible to tell you how we will resolve your complaint. We will apply the decision in the test case to all complaints we receive.
Why are the banks allowed to stop dealing with bank charge complaints during the test case?
The banks applied to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) for a suspension of the normal timetable for banks to deal with unauthorised overdraft charge complaints. The FSA decided that, in the circumstances it was appropriate to grant a suspension of the banks' obligations under their complaint handling rules while the banks sought legal certainty on this issue (which is now affecting more than 100,000 UK customers). The conditions of the suspension are designed to ensure that customers are not disadvantaged by the suspension. You can read the form of the FSA suspension (direction) here: www.fsa.gov.uk
All customers who have made a written complaint on unauthorised overdraft charges but who have not yet had their complaint resolved will receive a letter to explain the position regarding their complaint.
Can I make a court claim for a refund during the test case?
Yes, but we will apply to the court to put your case on hold while the test case is running. This is because the issues being raised in customer complaints on unauthorised overdraft charges are being considered in the test case.
Can I complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service about my bank charges?
Yes, you can make a complaint to FOS but it will not be reviewed while the test case is running. If you do complain to FOS, you will receive a letter explaining this.
What if I have already been made an offer?
We will stand by any offer to settle a complaint or court claim that we have already made to our customers. If you have received an offer to settle from us, we will be writing to you again shortly. Our letter will explain that customers have two months to decide whether to refuse our offer and wait for the decision in the test case. If you do choose to refuse an offer, your complaint or claim we be held and recorded by us until there is a final decision in the 'test case'. We will then contact you again as soon as possible to finally resolve your complaint.
I have already accepted an offer from you. Will my claim be revisited?
No. The offer we made and you accepted was in full and final settlement of your claim.
How long will the 'test case' take?
At this time it is too soon to give any exact timescales for a conclusion to the 'test case' but we expect it to go for more than a year. We have agreed with the OFT and the FSA to conduct the test case in an efficient, prompt and orderly way.
Where can I find out more?
You can call us on 08457 404 404.
Or you can find more information through the following links:
The British Bankers’ Association www.bba.org.uk
